Sports news – Llandyssil

 

Hockey –– the Montgomery Ladies playing in the first Shropshire Hatcher Ladies Hockey League did not have their best season – but ‘tomorrow is another day’ and the new season starts soon.  

 Mid and North Powys Junior Football League –

Montgomery Under 12's finished well up in league, Under11's were undefeated and Under 9's only lost one match. There are several players from the village in all these teams. Montgomery Under 11s also competed in a ‘non competitive’ Football Festival in Welshpool and played very well - they didn't lose a match! Congratulations to all – an amazing season.  
 

 Cricket –. The Under 11s, 13s and 15s – all with a number of players from the village - won all their games and were unbeaten in the Shropshire League. The 1^st and 2^nd  XIs were 4^th and 2^nd in their respective leagues. On July 11^th the new facilities will be opened at Lymore Park, coinciding with Presidents’ Day.  Tennis Montgomery - Congratulations to Daniel Pugh and Conor Parry who have both played on a regular basis for the Montgomery Men's A team.  Junior tennis coaching takes place regularly on Monday evenings from 4 p.m.  Contact Sue Lawrence on 01938-561314.Abermule – Congratulations to Abermule Year 6 Boys – Under 11s Tennis Team represented  Montgomeryshire in the North Wales Tennis Tournament in Wrexham on the 23rd June and were runners up in the North Wales.If there is sports news which should be included in the next issue, please contact the editor by 15^th September 2010. 

The Upper House (668465)The Upper House supports a number of village teams:

Darts –  The Upper House darts team had a good season with the team playing well..

Pool  - The Upper House Yorkies/Dyssil Blues finished second in the league –  only one point behind the league leaders. The Upper House ‘Dyssil Boys’ also did well – finishing 5^th in the league.
